How to Generate an SSS PRN Online
Quick answer
To generate an SSS PRN, log in to My.SSS, open the payment menu, choose to generate a PRN, pick the months you will pay and your monthly salary credit, then save the PRN. You use this number when you pay at SSS or a payment partner. PRNs are for voluntary, self-employed, OFW and non-working spouse members. Employed members do not need one, because their employer pays.
Before you start
- A working My.SSS account. See how to log in.
- Your membership type must be voluntary, self-employed, OFW or non-working spouse.
- Decide how much you will pay. Your contribution depends on your monthly salary credit (MSC). Use our SSS contribution calculator to check the amount.
- OFWs have a minimum MSC of PHP 8,000.
- Know the payment deadline for your type and month.

If it does not work
| Error or problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Generate PRN" menu is missing | Your record may show you as employed. Employers pay for employees. If you left your job, you must change your membership type first. |
| "No existing PRN" or "Unable to generate PRN" | Try again later. If it repeats, your membership data may need an update. Contact SSS. |
| "Payment beyond the deadline" | You cannot pay some past months late. Pick a current period. |
| Payment partner says "Invalid PRN" | Check each digit. Make sure the PRN is not expired and the amount matches. |
| Paid but not posted | Wait some days. Keep your receipt and contact SSS if it does not show. |
Frequently asked questions
What is an SSS PRN?
A PRN (Payment Reference Number) is a number SSS gives you for a specific contribution payment. It links your payment to your record, so it posts correctly.
Do employed members need a PRN?
No. Employers pay contributions for their workers using their own employer PRN. You only need a PRN if you pay for yourself.
How long is an SSS PRN valid?
A PRN is tied to the months and amount you chose and has a due date. Generate a new one for the next payment.
Can OFWs generate a PRN from abroad?
Yes. OFWs can log in to My.SSS from any country and generate a PRN. Then pay through an SSS-accredited channel abroad or in the Philippines. See SSS for OFWs.
Can I pay several months with one PRN?
You can choose more than one month when you generate it, within the limits SSS allows.
