How to Register for the National ID (PhilSys)

Quick answer

You register for the National ID in two parts. First you give your details and book a slot, online or at a center. Then you go to a registration center for your photo, fingerprints and iris scan. It is free. You get a transaction slip with your TRN, which you need to check your status later.

Before you start

One primary ID, like a PSA birth certificate plus one government ID with photo, or a passport.
If you lack a primary ID, two secondary documents may be accepted.
Your mobile number and email.
Your address, including barangay.
For children, a parent or guardian with their own ID.

Do not use a fixer. The process is free.

Steps

1. Go to the PhilSys registration page
https://register.philsys.gov.ph/. Check the address bar. It must end in.gov.ph.
2. Read the privacy notice and agree
3. Enter your full name, birth date, sex, blood type (optional), address and contact details
4. Pick a registration center and a date and time slot
5. Submit
Save or screenshot your appointment reference.
6. On your appointment day, bring your ID documents to the center
7. At the center, staff check your details and take your photo, fingerprints and iris scan
8. Get your transaction slip
It shows your TRN. Keep it safe.
9. If online booking is closed, walk in at a PSA registration center, or a mall or barangay registration site listed on philsys.gov.ph

If it does not work

Error messages and problems, and what to do.
Error or problem	What to do
"No available slots"	all slots at that center are full. Choose another center or date. Check again early in the morning.
"Page not found" or blank page	the online form may be closed or busy. Try later or go walk-in.
"Invalid mobile number"	enter 11 digits starting with 09, no spaces.
"You are already registered"	you may have registered before. Do not register again. Check your status or call 1388.
Lost transaction slip	go back to the center where you registered or call the hotline. Bring an ID.
