Worked example

A daily rate of ₱ 800 gives an hourly rate of ₱ 100.00. Working 8 hours on a regular holiday at 200% pays ₱ 1,600.00, which is ₱ 800.00 more than a normal day.

How it works

The calculator converts your pay into daily and hourly rates, then applies the premium for the type of holiday, whether you worked and whether it fell on your rest day, using the DOLE rules. Unworked special days follow the no work, no pay rule. Hours beyond 8 a day are overtime.

Pay for the holiday = 200% of your normal pay: hourly rate × 200% × hours worked if you worked, or daily rate × 200% if you did not. Hours beyond 8 a day are overtime. Holiday list: 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How much is holiday pay on a regular holiday?

If you work, 200% of your pay for the hours worked: for ₱ 800 a day and 8 hours that is ₱ 1,600.00. If you do not work, you still receive your daily rate if you meet the conditions.

Am I paid on a special non-working day if I do not work?

Generally no: the rule is no work, no pay, unless your company policy or collective agreement grants pay. If you work, you receive a premium on top of your hourly rate.

What if the holiday falls on my rest day?

The premium is higher. Tick the rest day option in the calculator to apply the rest-day rate from the DOLE table.
